Takt.OP Destiny Episode One Discussion

Now this is something I never expected. Madhouse working together with the studio that Masao Maruyama left them for, of course now he’s also got Studio M2 on his hands – this is shaping up to possibly be one of the best-looking shows I’ve seen in a long time. Takt.OP Destiny is everything I wished Classicaloid from the end of 2016 was, even from the first episode. A futuristic setting, monsters that hate music, and people that have to give up that very pleasure just to live in safety.

It seems at this moment each episode will alternate between studios as Madhouse handled this first episode, MAPPA has announced they are handling episode two. I’m somewhat weary despite being excited, but also hopeful that this will turn out really well. As an anime original story it’s anyone’s game, this can only be rushed if they really screw up à la Wonder Egg Priority.

With the setting, the characters and the overall similarity to Senki Zesshou Symphogear I can’t help but feel that this is going to be a wild ride that I’m going to enjoy. More to come when I get around to episode two, but trust me on this one.

Takt.OP Destiny can be found on Crunchyroll.
