I knew from the start that Platinum End would grip me, but I didn’t know how much exactly. Episode two had us see the use of the white arrow as well as some differences in morality between different god candidates, and let me just say that Metropoliman has me thinking. This guy has some trauma similar to Mirai I’m sure, he’s donning this suit in a false sense of justice because he wants to be a hero that he could never have himself. Killing may just be his form of justice, sounds a bit like Kira to me, but of course this is just my baseline assessment of the guy.
It’s almost kind of unsettling knowing that despite all of these characters being chosen by the angels to become the next God, the angels themselves are not equal in power thus the candidates don’t have an equal opportunity in this game and may have to make up for lack of power with their presence of mind. Luckily for Mirai he has the red arrow, white arrow and wings, but I suppose his use of them will all rest off his morals.
The next episode brings us to what some would call the “three episode test” but honestly if you haven’t fallen for this show already I don’t think another episode is going to change much, especially if you’re hung up on the animation quality.
