Takt.OP Destiny Episode Three/Four Discussion

I’m posting both of these together due to the fact that I have finally moved into my new place. Of course, during the move episode three came out and by the time I got to it, episode four was as well. But I think this is a good spot to actually have two episodes together for once. In seeing how Cosette came to become Destiny, I think the series really got itself into a good rhythm story wise, the animation of episode three was absolutely amazing, especially the opening fight scene. Unfortunately, that’s kind of why I have decided to take on these two episodes together, and further on, I may do the episodes of this series like this due to the fact that, in comparison, episode four looked hideous. Now, I don’t think this is taking anything away from the show per se, but it is a bit of a bummer as to why they decided to do this other than, maybe, splitting the workload on the animators a bit. Had this production been entirely Madhouse, then we might see one of the most beautiful shows in a long time.

It’s really something to look out for in this show, I’m sure episode five will return to the great quality we saw in one and three, but even in comparing episode two to episode four, I feel there was a massive quality drop here. Maybe something will get fixed in the Blu-ray release down the line, but that’s not really something we can use to defend the product at this very moment. However, the story and the concept of this show will still carry the animation quality for me, the introduction of characters like Lenny and Titan have been great, the hidden casino in a now farm-like Las Vegas show that humans, even in the worst times, still will give into their desires – and money will run them into the ground. Still holding out hope here that this show becomes one of the best of the season.
