Takt.OP Destiny Episode Five Discussion

Takt’s fifth episode reminds me a lot of one major plot point in Pandora Hearts, in which demons called Chains contract with humans, similar to how Maestros and Musicarts function. The similarity hits home a little more when Takt and Destiny are revealed to be an illegal team according to the high-ranking organization of the story, the Symphonica. While the setting of the episode mostly took place on a train, after Anna makes a failed attempt at jacking up her car with one of those really shitty carjacks, seriously I don’t blame Takt for accidentally tapping that thing and knocking it out from under the car, as the one my fiancĂ© and I used on her car once happened to start bending. Always use a strong one Anna, Walmart sells them, though I don’t know if you can find one in the 2040s, maybe underground like the Las Vegas casino was?

The introduction of Schindler and other Musicarts like Hell and Valkyrie to the series allowed us to learn more about these illegal Conductor/Musicart duos and a little more about Musicarts in general, such as what can happen to one that does not have a Conductor paired with them. The series is starting to remind me, as a whole, somewhat of Date-a-Live, except with much better animation in the Madhouse episodes. This may be a sign that the series isn’t as great as first impressions, but we’ll have to see how it turns out, as we aren’t even at episode six yet. Though, I’m not exactly thrilled about the next episode MAPPA is up to do.
